POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Hach Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President of Global Strategy and Product Management will work closely with the President to define and deploy Hach’s business strategy and develop a best-in-class Product Management organization.

EDUCATION, BACKGROUND AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA degree
  • 15+ years of work experience with 3+ years in a VP level Global leadership position
  • Significant experience in Strategy, Marketing and Product Management Leadership Positions
  • Significant experience working in a senior-level leadership position, reporting to a President/GM for a Global business.
  • Must have high strategic agility, excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to drive innovation.
  • Highly comfortable with financial modeling and business case development, as well as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurement and analytics.
  • Experience going through White Paper and Due Diligence exercise in pursuit of an M&A target.
  • Experience developing Global strategy in a collaborative and leadership position.
  • Demonstrable learning agile and the ability to quickly grasp an understanding and command of the global water market: products, players, technologies, and contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop partnership strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Understanding of the complexity of business needs and decision drivers within an organization. Must be able to consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, and probable consequences.
  • Proven capability to deliver results and drive strategic leadership within large-scale organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills with the ability to attract top talent, develop high performers, and hold people accountable for their performance.
  • A high level of cultural sensitivity and awareness with the ability to create a diverse organization. Able to engage effectively across an experienced global peer group like the Hach L1 team.
  • Demonstrated success in both direct-line leadership and highly matrixed environments.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • 70% travel (if not located in Colorado) with international trips and significant time spent at Loveland, CO headquarters
  • Ideal candidate will be located in Colorado, reducing travel to 30%

Responsibilities:

STRATEGY AND M&A RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team responsible for identifying, assessing, and developing plans to accelerate business growth and profitability through mergers, acquisitions, innovation partnerships, Water Quality Platform collaboration, and organic opportunities.
  • Lead the Hach annual strategic planning processes and specific strategy initiatives across the company.
  • Define, manage, and track key company-wide strategic performance.
  • Assess current and future market conditions to support the organization in making effective strategic allocation decisions.
  • Evaluate white space opportunities for possible expansion through new business ventures, outside innovation collaborations, and technology acquisitions.
  • Partner closely with Veralto Corporate Development and key stakeholders on Merger & Acquisition deal flow, analyzing the opportunities and risks and own the Hach inorganic funnel.

GLOBAL PRODUCT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the Global Product Management organization whose members will own the full lifecycle of Hach’s product lines. This includes but is not limited to product roadmaps, obsolescence, product launches, pricing, VOC, overall product health, and global communication.
  • Develop a best-in-class Global Product Management organization whose members sit at the center of Hach’s most critical decisions regarding the verticals we play, the products we develop, and the strategies we implement to win in the marketplace.

ADDITIONAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a key member of the Hach Senior Leadership (L1) team that sets the company’s strategic direction and demonstrates enterprise-wide, global leadership.
  • Work closely with the regional VP/GMs and global functional leaders to develop a roadmap for achieving higher organic growth that leverages all aspects of the growth engine.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation & Technology team and the Commercial teams to architect a global product strategy and product roadmap that will support the brand position and drive market share.
  • Drive the continuous improvement mindset through the Strategy team in further developing growth processes utilizing the Veralto Enterprise System.
  • Drives a culture of accountability and ownership
  • Ensures all product launches follow Launch Excellence framework and meet commercial launch targets.
  • Hire, train, develop, and coach team members to create an environment of high engagement and performance.
