The Vice President of Sales has overall responsibility for Canada’s Services and Hardware sales (Cisco, Lenovo, HP, etc.). This candidate is responsible for maintaining and growing business in existing accounts as well as new logos. Candidate will develop territory assignments and strategies, build and nurture client and partner/OEM executive relationships, determine staff assignments, provide mentoring and coaching, and complete management development duties. Candidate will use highly developed negotiation skills to resolve controversial situations, customer negotiations, and influence/persuade senior management. Candidate will work with and manage a team of account executives across Canada, to grow revenue; build and nurture customer relationships and territories; manage and meet budget; forecast and deliver new business and product sales. Candidate will stay informed of market trends and competitor products and services, and provide insight and recommendations to address market needs.

Responsibilities:·

  • Capitalizes on business development opportunities with both current and potential customers by driving team activities for sales calls, preparing and delivering presentations, and obtaining customer commitments
  • Determines tactical and strategic direction of business unit, taking into account sales plan figures, and develops and ensures execution of appropriate action plans
  • Selects and trains qualified candidates capable of filling immediate and long-term sales and customer needs
  • Manages any personnel or discipline issues that may arise. Controls hiring and terminations as needed.
  • Provides training, coaching, and counseling to account executives, as well as breaking down barriers to enable team success
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an IT fied.
  • 15 years’ experience in strategic sales leadership
  • Professional level spoken and written English; communication in French is a strong asset
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive results independently and through collaboration and influence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt to varying audiences
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing and changing priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Robust organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and at different levels in an organization
  • Experience working in the Canadian marketplace. Industry experience in Retail, Financial Services and/or Government preferred
  • Experience reselling OEM products and services is a strong asset
  • Experience in IT managed services/outsourcing is preferred
  • A level of technical expertise is a strong asset

This role has an average salary of $200K-$225K plus incentives commensurate upon experience.

QUALIFICATIONS DE BASE

  • Baccalauréat, de préférence dans un domaine informatique.
  • 15 ans d’expérience en leadership commercial stratégique.
  • Anglais parlé et écrit de niveau professionnel ; la communication en français est un atout important.
  • Fort sentiment d’appartenance et capacité à obtenir des résultats de manière indépendante et par la collaboration et l’influence.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale avec capacité à s’adapter à différents publics
  • Capacité à jongler avec plusieurs priorités concurrentes et changeantes dans un environnement entrepreneurial en évolution rapide
  • Solides compétences organisationnelles et de gestion du temps
  • Capacité à travailler avec des personnes d’horizons divers et à différents niveaux d’une organisation
  • Expérience de travail sur le marché canadien. Expérience dans le secteur de la vente au détail, des services financiers et/ou du gouvernement, de préférence.
  • Expérience dans la revente de produits et services OEM est un atout majeur.
  • Une expérience en services gérés/externalisation informatique est un atout majeur.
  • Un niveau d’expertise technique est un atout important.
