Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Join the Transport & Infrastructure business as the Waikato Construction Manager. Working closely with our Regional Manager and local Project Managers, you’ll support to execute our strategy and drive operational excellence. You will be responsible for the delivery of civil construction activity across the Waikato region.

Leading a team of civil infrastructure professionals, you will promote and drive:

  • Our strategic business development for the Waikato Construction team
  • Development of construction capability within the Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Further develop our high performing teams, in both culture and capability by providing clear and positive leadership
  • Work with the Regional Manager to retain and enhance current business and develop capability to deliver on new business opportunities
  • Win well and deliver well (tendering through to delivery)
  • Enhancing our reputation with all key clients and stakeholders
  • Application of a risk management approach to the delivery of the consolidated regional programme

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position based from our Te Rapa, Hamilton depot. Occasional travel across the Waikato region will be required.

NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

We are seeking a well-experienced industry professional to tackle and own the T&I Waikato Construction business portfolio. Along with your excellent people management skills, you’ll know and understand the civil construction world, and all the challenges and opportunities that it brings. You will also have:

  • Tertiary engineering qualification in engineering (desirable)
  • Proven business development track record in the construction sector
  • Excellent commercial knowledge and the implementation of all NZS standards
  • Proven successful management experience with responsibility and accountability for staff, plant and return on investmentProven successful project management experience with projects from 0-$100m and a suitable level of experience across a range of civil construction disciplines
