Description:
Waiter work for food establishments to interact with guests and provide them with their meals in a timely manner. They are responsible for ensuring diners have a positive experience at food establishments by exhibiting excellent customer service. Their duties also involve taking their orders, communicating with members of the kitchen about orders and carrying meals or beverages to the correct seat.
The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:
- Takes customers’ orders for food and drink by writing them on a ticket, entering them into a tablet, or memorizing them.
- Collects food orders from the kitchen, verifies that they are correct, and serves them to customers.
- Processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers if necessary.
- Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information.
- Prepares cheques and delivers them to customers.
- Following health code standards with regards to the handling of food.
· Meets with managers and wait staff daily or regularly to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs.
Requirement for Waiter/Waitress:
· Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience.
· Language Proficiency Arabic and English.
· Demonstrable verbal, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with developing constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers.
· Good physical condition, food safety training will be considered a plus.
General skills Waiter/Waitress should possess:
· Ability to communicate well with guests and team members.
· Computer literate (experience of Ticket solve preferable but not essential)
· Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
· Team player qualities.
· Money handling experience along with excellent customer service skills.
· Proficient typing skills required.
· High level of attention to detail.
· Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you.
Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
