Description:

We are looking for a enthusiastic individual who will work within our Gynaecology emergency department. They will be responsible for the daily ward administrative duties which are required to ensure that the unit offer a safe and well organised service.
You will assist in the provision of the service and contribute to the effective running of the Department. The role is varied clerical work.
Booking patients onto the system
Answering the telephone and dealing appropriately with all enquiries, redirecting to relevant staff as required.
The creation, management and filing of case notes in accordance with case note management policy for all patients within the department.
Maintain the admission, discharge and transfer activity of all patients within the department.
Maintain ward stationary stock levels as required.
Arrange patients follow-up appointments as directed by medical / nursing staff.
Ensure case notes are transferred to the medical secretaries following patient’s discharge from the department.
Assist patients as required in the completion of Medicash / insurance forms.
Assist the ward staff with general administrative duties e.g. photocopying, dealing with department mail and distributing as required.
Filing of laboratory, x-ray reports, charts and documents within case notes as required.
Amending / Updating demographic details on computer as necessary.
Producing relevant documentation for each patient’s admission.
Ensuring all documentation is available for nursing and medical staff relating to the patient’s admission.
Retrieving case notes from other locations within or outside the hospital when requested.
Submit requests for case notes stored off site.
Ensuring case notes are tracked into and out of the department.
