Job Summary/Job Purpose: The post holder will carry twenty-four hour continuing responsibility for the management of the Paediatric Unit. They will be highly experienced in children’s nursing and possess specialist knowledge and expertise in the area of child health The post holder will be responsible for delivering a quality nursing service to all patients in their care, ensuring that all resources are used to optimum effect. They will be responsible for the devising and implementation of policies and procedures for their unit , which will ensure the highest standards of patient care within existing/current resources and which will ensure the highest standards and mission of the UHB.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of staff through the observance and implementation of Health and Safety Policies and also assist them in identifying and achieving training and developmental needs through the implementation of UHB policies and procedures Have a continuing responsibility and management of a 41 bedded unit comprising of Inpatients/Day Surgery, Paediatric Assessment beds and also a Children Outpatients service ensuring effective and efficient use of resources. Assist the Senior Nurse in developing systems and processes to monitor: -quality of care adherence to UHB polices and procedures clinical practice Deputise as necessary for the Senior Nurse Maximise the performance of all staff within delegated areas ensuring effective structures for the supervision and direction of wor
