Responsibilities:
The position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

The primary responsibilities of this role are over two areas of activity:

  • to coordinate Raw Material inventory needs for MSA Bristol, including stock control and movements. Additional accountability includes ensuring that on time delivery is adhered to and ensuring that the related cross-functional departments are fully communicated and appraised of situations alongside ensuring that material traceability is maintained in the MRP system.
  • to coordinate transportation needs for MSA Bristol, including inbound, intra-company and outbound freight. Additional accountability includes ensuring that on time delivery is adhered to and ensuring that the related cross-functional departments are communicated and appraised of situations alongside ensuring that freight partners have forward notice of customer requirements and schedules for collection.

Warehouse duties:

  • Booking Sub-Con Raw Material deliveries
  • Ensure optimizing use of fabric in cutting process
  • Process Sub-con cutting tickets
  • Cycle count planning and processing Raw Materials & Finish Goods
  • Manage stock booking/processing
  • Notification of PO errors to buyer(s)
  • Transfer/allocation of stock to locations
  • Location management of trim/fabric in stores
  • Stock maintenance/control
  • Co-ordinate with Logistics, Sub-con Planner, Buyer(s)
  • Ensure material is prepared in line with production schedules

Logistics duties:

  • Coordinate Transportation activities with internal and external customers, including Tracking and Tracing as appropriate. Work with Supply Chain and Customer Service and other MSA departments as needed.
  • Ensures that all transportation related concerns are resolved and communicated appropriately. Interact with carriers to resolve issues and to drive efficiencies.
  • Providing support and high level of professional communication cross-functionally (including intercompany) as well as to suppliers of freight.
  • Manage day to day order expedite requests and establish new dates as communicated from the factories or supply planning team.
  • Understand and have a up to date knowledge around customs compliance requirements.
  • A working knowledge and adaptation surrounding airway bills, seaway bills of laden, incoterms, Letter of Credit, EUR1’s and ATR1’s.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filed and managed in an organized manner. Manage and update company master data including commodity codes and country of origin within the regulations and customs expectations.
  • Responsibility for providing import and export based customs clearances (global).
  • Providing fully multi-modal freight pricing and quotations for a variety of customers across varied industries.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve logistics processes: outbound, inbound and intercompany transportation management within the MSA region.

Ensure all functions are fully optimized to meet our customers’ business requirements within the region, while driving improved customer satisfaction, delivery improvement and reduce combined front end logistics and transportation costs.
Qualifications:

Experience: 2 years and above

  • Well Organised and systematic approach to work.
  • Attention to detail
  • IT Literate
  • Ability to transmit confidence in MSA Safety to internal customers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Listening and questioning technique
  • Ability to provide resolution in a timely manner and offer strong problem solving skills
  • Good telephone manner
  • Previous use of SAP desirable
  • A desire to personally develop and grow within the business
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to prioritise

Education: GCSE or Equivalent / A-Level or Equivalent
