Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
To efficiently receive and distribute materials from inventory and assist with inventory control.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience in material management is desired.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Must possess basic knowledge of office, warehousing, and purchasing procedures.
- Must have the ability to acquire knowledge of OSHA and NESC safety regulations, electric distribution industry materials, construction specifications and utility industry products, and URE policies, procedures, mapping system, service territory, and staking sheets.
- Must have the ability to organize and to work without close supervision.
- Must have good math skills.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License. A Commercial Driver License is preferred.
- Must be certified to operate a forklift or become certified within 30 days after employment.
- Must be able to interact effectively with coworkers, members, and vendors in a variety of situations, exercising good judgment and maintaining a positive company image.
- Must have the ability to operate a personal computer using Microsoft applications.
- Must become certified in first aid and CPR within the first year of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Warehousing and Purchasing Coordinator with the purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies for the cooperative in accordance with industry specifications and URE policies and procedures, to include vendor relations, bid specification and award, price negotiation and delivery.
- Coordinates snow removal during winter months
- Receives, records, unloads and stores material items in support of Cooperative operations. Advises the Warehousing and Purchasing Coordinator of discrepancies between the purchase order and material received and of any damages to ensure proper receipt.
- Distributes materials in accordance with work orders, staking sheets, maintenance request, and warehouse transfers to crew members and others for electric and gas services to provide crews and customers with material needed to perform their responsibilities.
- Assists with internal controls by performing timely paperwork and computer entries. This includes documenting both receipt and distribution of material to properly account for material transactions.
- Assists with physical inventories by performing periodic and annual material inventory counts.
- Assists with the maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse and pole yard.
- Provides support during major outages by assisting in whatever manner is necessary as prescribed in the Emergency Outage Plan.
- Exercises professional courteous conduct in dealing with the member/consumers and other employees.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by adhering to policies, procedures and regulations.
- Assists in achieving a greater degree of teamwork by performing all other duties as assigned.
