Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative (16 hours per week) to join our team based in Edinburgh, Waverley Station. You will be responsible for accepting deliveries from suppliers, ensuring goods received correspond to delivery notes and to quality specifications. You will be looking after stock control and order picking from fridges and freezers. Additionally, you will also be responsible for the cleaning of all crockery, cutlery & carts returned from trains. The relevant training will be provided to you upon your commencement of employment.

EDUCATION:

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment preferably in a similar role
  • Food hygiene, security, H&S experience preferred but not essential

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work with numbers
  • Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude
  • Computer Literate
  • Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism always
    Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential. You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn. In addition to job - related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

OTHER DUTIES

  • To ensure that all equipment is correctly used, and any damage or faults are reported
  • To ensure that all protective clothing is worn correctly
  • To ensure that all standards of cleanliness are within the guidelines laid down in the company procedures
  • To ensure that ISO 2000 standards are maintained
  • To maintain company standards on personal hygiene
  • To report on accidents, near misses and hazardous occurrences in line with company procedures and take preventative action where necessary
  • To attend training as and when required
  • To assume any other responsibilities as directed by the company representative
  • Basic computer work
