We are currently seeking warehouse professionals to join our Calgary Warehouse team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle or confirmed transportation to work. Our warehouse is not accessible via public transit.

SKILLS REQUIRED – TECHNICAL

  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting, bending and reaching.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and written.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of lading and international shipments.
  • Ability to weigh and measure items.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
  • Computer literacy.

SKILLS REQUIRED – NON-TECHNICAL

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in a warehouse
  • Previous experience operating a carpet cutting machine.
  • Previous forklift experience considered an asset

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

The Warehouse Team is responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. The Warehouse Associate is expected to accurately prepare materials for shipments, matching incoming and outgoing product with purchase orders, and the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality. Additional responsibilities may include loading and unloading shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment (e.g., lift truck, forklift, etc.). Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare carpet materials for deliveries, including performing carpet cuts based on documentation.
  • Match incoming and outgoing product with purchase orders.
  • Verify product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating.
  • Operate necessary equipment, including Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack or carpet cut machine in a safe manner.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Oversee the secure and accurate unloading of deliveries.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if there are multiple items per shipments, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Sort and distribute incoming shipments.
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
  • Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries. Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
