Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Associate will receive merchandise and fulfill customer orders in a safe and timely manner in the warehouse.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle boxes, containers, packages of various weights and sizes.
  • Loads and unloads materials into or from vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
  • Inspects inbound merchandise.
  • Utilize RF scanners during product receiving, check-in, put away and picking.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Properly package and label outbound common carrier shipments.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Maintain merchandise resale value and quality by protecting it from damage.
  • Stage merchandise for truck deliveries.
  • Accurately and efficiently locate, verify, pull and pick products and materials for orders, delivery and transfer utilizing RF scanners.
  • Maintain warehouse and work areas in clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Participate in taking inventory counts according to guidelines.
  • Properly and safely operate (powered industrial) equipment according to safety guidelines
  • Ensure company vehicles are in proper working order by reporting mechanical and operational issues.
  • Proper completion of regulatory and administrative forms and reports relating to vehicle operation.
  • Report damaged/missing product to supervisor or Branch Manager.
  • Provide whatever customer assistance is appropriate under the circumstances and according to company policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must be organized, detail orientated and accurate and work as part of a team. Must possess a clean driving record and have the ability to become certified in operating a forklift. Ability to obtain a valid medical card and chauffer license. Prior warehouse, delivery and forklift experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs repetitively for 8 hours
  • Ability to operate and navigate commercial delivery vehicle (GVWR 10,000 lbs or less)
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching, pushing and pulling of merchandise, products and materials.
  • Consistently follows procedures and adheres to standards
  • Must be able to understand and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form and follow directions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to understand product codes and terminology
  • Ability to use hand tools to open boxes or containers
  • Operate RF scanner
  • Operate a pallet jack
  • Operate a forklift
  • Ability to meet the attendance standards

Working Conditions:
Due to the open warehouse environment, must be able to work in various indoor climatic conditions including heat, humidity and cold. Maneuvers in small areas and/or around various object
