A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Checks incoming and/or outgoing merchandise, verifying quantities, correctness of materials, etc.
- Enters shipping and receiving data in the computer as required.
- Performs general warehouse duties as directed such as arranging stock and taking cycle counts.
- Uses manual and automatic materials handling equipment as required in handling merchandise in connection with the employee’s work (including loading and unloading of trucks).
- Unpacks, packs or repacks merchandise as required.
- Responsible for working safely and is expected to do all possible to minimize downtime and materials losses.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Must be responsible for condition and orderly storage of materials both bulk and orders ready for shipment.
- Will perform all other duties as may apply to the existing job description.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Candidate must be comfortable working in an environment with hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including detail orientation and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work alternately in a seated or standing position is required
