Our Warehouse Construction Team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant to join their team at our Head Office in Tolworth, London. You will be involved in various stages of new built projects ensuring compliance to corporate specification, H&S standards and latest Building Regulations while the highest standards and deadlines are met.

What you’ll do

  • Oversight of various stages of construction in new built warehouse projects including budgeting, design, pre-construction, post-tender and post-completion
  • Monitoring project progress, controlling budget and checking quality standards are met at all times while ensuring compliance to corporate specification, procedures and highest H&S standards and statutory requirements
  • Remedying any issues quickly and effectively with an aim to keeping projects moving and ensuring deadlines are not jeopardised
  • Onboarding new business partners and overseeing tender process incl. setting up new Framework Agreements
  • Obtaining and processing project and budget updates from all relevant colleagues and departments ensuring accuracy and reporting to Senior team and other key internal stakeholders
  • Review and update internal procedures and specifications as per corporate requirements. Seek to improve processes and explore Value Engineering opportunities incl. detailed liaison with relevant colleagues, consultants and stakeholders across the board
  • Independently representing Lidl on sites and in meetings and resolving project challenges.
  • Management of client side professional team and contractor(s) from both performance and contractual perspective

What you’ll need

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Engineering or Construction is desirable
  • Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role
  • A full UK driving licence and flexible to travel across the country when required
  • A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment
  • Highly organised with a pragmatic and analytical approach
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business
  • A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative
  • Knowledge of full MS Office package
  • RICS, CIOB or MAPM accreditation (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
  • Experience with MS Projects and Autodesk is desirable but not essential
