Job Position Summary
The Warehouse & Distribution Manager is accountable for the Global Shipment of Orders out of Vision Care, Vision Care Combination Product and the 3PL Warehouses. The Warehouse & Distribution Manager has accountability for servicing internal and external customers as well affiliate companies in line with delivery and quality promises, supporting and supported by internal stakeholders ensuring that products are available on time and within budget whilst maintaining a safe working environment through a robust Quality System and adhering to environmental legislation.
This position is also accountable for effective long-term planning and design of the Distribution and Receiving functions, with the purpose of ensuring the warehouse is aligned and can support the growth strategy of the organization.
The responsibilities & the impact you will have:
- Accountable for ensuring processes and people are aligned to support customer expectations in shipment of orders from Vision Care, Vision Care Combination Product or 3PL Distribution
- Ensure the transportation toward customers are managed and maintained at a high standard
- Create and maintain a proactive safety culture being accountable for meeting business metrics, zero lost workdays and recordable incidents
- Create a culture within team to one of proactive to Safety opposed to reactive
- Foster a culture of accountability and responsibility across the team and supporting teams through daily/weekly actions
- Contribute to and/or lead strategic projects for Deliver Vision Care Supply Chain
- Maintain and work within a quality management system incorporating effective staff training and appropriate process documentation.
- Planning yearly and long term budget and managing operating costs within area through continuous productivity improvements
- Manage the day-to-day relationship and performance of the 3PL service providers
- Provide leadership within Distribution and Receiving which supports teamwork across all functions within the organization
- Develop a team for the future through ongoing people development and ongoing feedback and goal setting
- Develop a culture of lean/ continuous improvement within the operation in terms of productivity and quality of delivered product and services
- Liaise with Global and local senior management on the Distribution function and planning
- Effectively align the warehouse to support future growth, through effective planning and design
QUALIFICATIONS
We would love to hear from you, if you have the following requirements:
- Third level qualification in Supply Chain discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ working experience in Supply Chain
- Experience on SAP or another inventory / warehouse management tool
- Strong leadership, motivational, influencing and people management/ development skills
- Build functional excellence and driven continuous improvement with a focus on customer experience
- Experienced in the application of performance measurement and management
- Capable of solving problems quickly and effectively
- Requires strong customer focus and an intuitive understanding of the customers’ needs
- Experience in working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple co-incidental tasks to tight deadlines
- Able to identify risk areas and pro-actively implement contingency programs
- Positive, proactive attitude to safety at work
- Good project management skills
- E2E mentality and collaborative, influence-based leadership approach
- Highly collaborative and influential.
