EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of general warehouse experience, including work within several different warehouse departments
  • Leadership experience and desire is preferred
  • Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus
  • Experience with computers and scanning equipment preferred
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Desire to work within a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities:

  • esponsibility for the daily distribution activities, productivity and quality within assigned department (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).
  • Provide leadership and assistance with the daily operation of the department to meet all daily objectives.
  • Assist employees with exceptions and problem resolution to ensure accuracy within the department.
  • Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet department and launch time goals.
  • Organize and direct workflow for the department when supervisor is unavailable
  • Provide instructions about standard operating procedures, material handling equipment and help in resolving problems.
  • Train temporary employees and new hires.
  • Assist the supervisor in maintaining a safe, injury-free work environment.
    Education
    High school diploma or equivalent required
