EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of general warehouse experience, including work within several different warehouse departments
- Leadership experience and desire is preferred
- Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus
- Experience with computers and scanning equipment preferred
- Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Desire to work within a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities:
- esponsibility for the daily distribution activities, productivity and quality within assigned department (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).
- Provide leadership and assistance with the daily operation of the department to meet all daily objectives.
- Assist employees with exceptions and problem resolution to ensure accuracy within the department.
- Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet department and launch time goals.
- Organize and direct workflow for the department when supervisor is unavailable
- Provide instructions about standard operating procedures, material handling equipment and help in resolving problems.
- Train temporary employees and new hires.
- Assist the supervisor in maintaining a safe, injury-free work environment.
