DESCRIPTION
Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring a Warehouse Manager in the Facility Services Department. This is a working manager position that will deliver daily packages within 24 hours of receiving. Track and record all incoming packages. Maintain the warehouse in order fashion. The employee is to perform assigned tasks in a cooperative, safe and competent manner, achieve the objectives of the Facility Services Department, and accomplish all duties as specified in the contract of employment. The warehouse manager will work directly with Facility Services Director and Assistant Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Have High School diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Must have current forklift operator certification.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a warehouse setting.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work with delivery with a Box Truck with tail liftgate.

Responsibilities:
- Delivery packages to multiple campuses on a daily basis. This will include loading the box truck or cargo van for the delivery, then unloading the vehicle and delivering the package to its final destination.
- Keep inventory for housekeeping, and main warehouse locations.
- Using Asset Essential software to maintain accurate account of warehouse resources.
- Maintain daily shipping and receiving logs (Excel spreadsheet).
- Maintain all documentation for electronic recycling, metal recycling and electronic re-use.
- Using e-procurement to purchase inventory, and using state surplus website.
- Willing to train and upgrade knowledge in assigned duties.
- Showing initiative in the job to ensure a continuous, timely and efficient operation, using good judgment without constant or direct supervision, and being alert for new ideas and improvements.
- Keep documentation for on-site sales of items for NC Surplus and interfacing with their online system.
- Daily work orders will be completed in a reasonable time frame.
- Familiar with and can use smart phones and tablets.
- At time, performing and/or assisting with repairs relating to mechanical, electrical or plumbing systems, landscaping, housekeeping, and/or other general maintenance as required.
- Assist mail services with mail delivery and mail postage.
- Working knowledge with various operating equipment and tools.
- Being prepared to change and adjust schedule by the season, quarter or semester, and when otherwise necessary to perform tasks deemed appropriate by the Facility Services Director or other appropriate Durham Technical Community College officials.
- Willing and readily cooperative in being pulled off of your regular work assignment as needed to help out in other areas for temporary or emergency situations.
- Being respectful of all employees, including your immediate peers.
- Uniforms as furnished by Durham Technical Community College will be worn during normal working hours and kept clean and neat in appearance.
- All safety equipment as furnished by Durham Technical Community College will be used as required by OSHA, the Durham Technical Community College Safety Committee, and the Facility Services Department.
- All communication equipment as furnished by Durham Technical Community College will be properly maintained and used in compliance with all FCC regulations and as required by the Facility Services Department.
- Following work assignments as given by your direct report.
- Following all work order procedures as directed by your supervisor and required by the Facility Services Department.
- Being regular and punctual in attendance and willing to cooperate with the other employees to get the job done.
- Must complete all mandatory work related and professional development training.
- Additional duties shall include other appropriate activities as assigned by the Director of Facility Services, Chief Division Officer and/or the President.
