We are looking for an experienced and hands on Warehouse Manager to be based at our site in Erith (DA18 4AF).
Internally, this role is known as Warehouse Supervisor.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will take full accountability for the management of the night shift operations in the warehouse, ensuring the operation runs smoothly and efficiently in line with the changing demands and needs of the customer. Additionally, you will have accountability for ensuring consistent KPI performance, and ensuring all compliance and employee relations processes are being followed. To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to consistently apply HR standards specifically around recruitment, absence management, performance, conduct, safety and service. If you have extensive warehousing operations experience with the ability to manage, motivate and develop people, this role could be perfect for you.
Your working hours will be between 10pm and 9am (based on business needs), Sunday to Friday.

- £42,210 per annum, with an additional £1800 per annum night shift allowance.

Main Responsibilities
- Safely handle products through all inbound and outbound processes, ensuring all company procedures and adhered to
- Ensure all good are handled in the correct manger to ensure that damage is kept to a minimum and manual handling techniques are followed.
- Carryout any other reasonable requests too support the effective running of the warehouse.
- Ensure all vehicles are loaded and unloaded using the correct equipment and customer requirements are delivered within the required timescale.
- Ensure any concerns, issues or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to the team and when relevant, Site Manager to allow appropriate action to be taken and earliest opportunity.
- Deliver through briefings and day to day interaction effective communication to the team members, this will include daily shift briefs, performance of site/shift, assigning work, issue resolution,
adhoc briefings and other team interactions.
- Manage and monitor performance through objective setting, and any other mechanisms as appropriate, providing appropriate levels of mentoring and support.
- Ensure all team members are aware of key business outcomes, processes, and expectations, delivering all company communications in a consistent and timely manner, providing feedback as appropriate.
- Full support with investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Ensuring due attention is provided to employee welfare, identifying and signposting areas of support where necessary, ensuring functional arrangements are in place to protect the wellbeing of all employees.
- Ensure consistent 5S compliance – Sort, Straighten, Sanitise, Standardise and Sustain.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to all times, raising any non-compliances or concerns at the earliest opportunity.
- Drive an engaged and robust H&S agenda across the sites.
- Promote Kaizen and Right First-Time principles within the team to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Skills
- Proven leadership qualities to enable you to manage all aspects of a busy FMCG warehouse.
- Experience in warehouse management.
- Highly motivated and proactive, enjoying leading as well working as a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results
- Demonstrate exceptional leaderships, motivational skills, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, resilient and highly organised.
- Good working knowledge of all relevant operational practices
- FLT Licence or experience is desirable.
