Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the oversight of all functions of distribution center, including but not limited to: receiving, picking, scanning, loading, product allocation, transportation, safety training, and Inventory
  • Provide direct management of warehouse employees
  • Ensure the efficient management of labor hours and consumable supplies within budget and work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed
  • Manage the proper selection, purchase and utilization of company assets in support of warehouse operations. Coordinate with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Develop business relationships to ensure communication and efficient operations with third party vendors, such as lumping services
  • Maintain current certificate of insurance and hold harmless agreements for all contracted vendors
  • Develop and maintain productive staff members by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development
  • Perform management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations
  • Coordinate efforts with safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections. Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required
  • Ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet or exceed service standards
  • Develop and implement work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations
  • Make recommendations to the Operations Director on programs to improve warehouse operations
  • Ensure that federal, state, and local shipping and receiving requirements are being followed throughout the warehouse; gain knowledge of this field by studying new and existing legislation
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within inbound and outbound warehouse operations. Identifies problems and proposes solutions to other members of management and promotes cooperation with other departments
  • Assists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness
  • Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver unparalleled customer service
  • Maintain elevated levels of accuracy in daily operations

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relative field preferred, such as logistics, supply chain management, or business administration. The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Minimum of 5-year supervisor experience
  • Ability to implement process improvement initiatives for effective workflow
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Appropriate time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team environment and manager others
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organization skills

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outloo
