Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Managing the warehouse in line with the company standards.
  • Complying with the company’s policies and procedures:
    o Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies/procedures.
    o Safeguards warehouse operations by complying with essential security procedures/protocols.

o Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.

  • Overseeing the operation of, incoming, internal distribution and dispatch of all materials and products:

o Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all material movements, incoming, internal and outgoing.

  • Adept in the use of scanners and bar code readers in order to deploy them efficiently/effectively.
  • Using the warehouse space to achieve maximum performance.
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation, laws and requirements.
  • Ownership of stock control and warehouse organization:

o Maintain the integrity of all stock locations in terms of part/material and quantity.

o Regularly update the data storage system.

  • Liaise with all key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Produce a monthly report with statistics (in/out status report, dead stock report, stock turns etc.)
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees:

o Assign employee role/responsibility and annual goals.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Warehouse management/supervision experience essential. (Minimum 3 years)
  • ONC/HNC qualified in an industrial or mechanical discipline. Required but not essential.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders at various levels of a business
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and analysis tools
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement strategies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 6-sigma, TPM etc.)
  • Have the ability to manage projects with multiple cross-functional interfaces, have good written and oral communication skills, and be capable of working on own initiative.
  • Having a working knowledge of the following:
    o IATF16949 or equivalent
    o AS9100

  • Being able to assess risk and take the necessary actions to mitigate these risks including the social behaviours necessary to ensure all relevant people are involved.

Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Manager is the main point of contact for the SLG finished goods warehouse.
Working within operations, the Warehouse Manager is essentially responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage, distribution of internally required materials and dispatch of finished products/materials.
You will be experienced in warehousing, managing warehouse employees, processes, and a warehouse management system. You will be in charge of maintaining safety standards to ensure that products are received, dispatched, and delivered safely and efficiently. You will be a leader who works closely with your warehouse employees to meet the organisations goals and objectives. Most importantly, you will be responsible for the health and safety of both your direct employees and also anyone else who may enter your facility.
You will have previous, extensive experience working within a warehouse and an absolute understanding of the basic operations of a best in class (automotive standard) warehouse. You will need to have been technically trained in fundamental warehouse operations, processes and procedures (such as a lift truck certificate of basic training).
