The Role -
The primary function of the Warehouse Manager role is to manage the operations and develop the 3rd party distribution centre. Achieving key service levels around receipting, picking and despatch as well as on time deliveries to our customers and inventory control, whilst ensuring efficiency and that costs are controlled within the agreed budgets. Effectively manage all 3PL relationships, performance, Service Level Agreements, KPI’s and costs and work on their permanent improvements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities / a day in the life of the Warehouse Manager –

  • Assist in the management of our clients’ interests in all aspects of quotation, processing; inventory control, inbound scheduling, receiving, order processing, packing, value added services and dispatch
  • Work cross functionally across the supply chain to achieve on time availability and with the markets and DC teams to achieve on time in full delivery
  • Drive a continuous improvement program with all 3rd party distribution providers ensuring market leadership
  • Develop appropriate reporting and KPIs to support and measure achievement of 3PL targets
  • Ensure effective handover to other supervisors or person in charge when completing a shift, including communication of any operational issues that could have health, safety, environment, customer, financial, or quality impacts
  • Ensure that the Health, Safety and Environment Management System is effectively implemented within the business and monitor the HSE performance and continual improvement with the Toll Group Health, Safety and Environmental Management Standards and policies

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience within a similar leadership role – Transport/Logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience with Operations, CoR, Fatigue Management.
  • An analytical mind-set – critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • Capability to learn and adapt to new procedures and systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy skills – MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines within a time-pressured environment
