POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv Mississauga, Ontario is hiring a Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at our global fulfillment center. This skilled multitasker will manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities, ensuring quality standards are met or exceeded. Responsibilities include achieving inventory accuracy, coordinating order fulfillment, and tracking shipping times for millions of product orders annually. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of management in a distribution environment.
- Ability to lead and influence others within and outside of Vertiv.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively and interact effectively with personnel to accomplish tasks.
- Must be action-oriented with an eye for finding opportunities and solving problems.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- In-depth knowledge of modern warehousing and inventory practices
- English language skills are required, and Spanish language is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OOHSA) and relevant guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Global manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience working with Oracle ERP and Oracle SCM.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing duties of the above jobs, the manager is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, talk, hear and smell. Required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction as the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
- Determine product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods to develop warehouse operations systems.
- Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Establish and enforce standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
- Schedule and oversee the warehouse team, managing the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
- Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
- Meet regularly with warehouse leads to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
- Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
