Description:
Overview of the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team in a multi-functional warehouse setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various warehouse activities, including picking orders using digitized handheld picking scanners, using stock accounting scanners, and ensuring efficient operation within the warehouse.
Main Responsibilities
- Utilize digitized handheld picking scanners to accurately pick orders and fulfil customer requirements.
- Operate stock accounting scanners to maintain accurate inventory records and track stock movements.
- Assist in receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing products within the warehouse.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and targets.
- Always adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- Handle and package product carefully to prevent damage during handling and transport
- Maintain a positive and proactive attitude to contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment in the warehouse
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous experience in fast paced warehouse environment preferred but not required
- Familiarity with digitized handheld picking scanner and stock accounting scanners in an asset
- Good communication and ability to work as a team is advantageous
- Physica ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and warehouse processes
PROBLEM SOLVING & CHANGE:
- Addressing discrepancies between physical inventory and system records
- Resolving issues related to pick errors or damaged product
- Troubleshooting pick issues and scanner issues.
- Adapting to new technologies and software updates to warehouse Operations
- Embracing continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse processes
