Description:
Blackbird Security Inc. is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse Security Manager to join our Field operations team in Brampton, Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Asset Protection Distribution Centers, or at least five years’ experience in Distribution Center Operations.
- Bachelors’ Degree preferred
- Security licence Preferred
- Communication Skills – strong ability to tell your story (written and verbally) to powerfully teach others the skills to support the client’s Asset Protection Strategies.
- Analytical Skills – ability to identify, document, and create data/powerful metrics involving Asset Protection patterns and trends amongst the assigned areas.
- Innovative Thinker – ability to propose new tactics to mitigate theft and get the buy-in from the appropriate business partners.
- Sound Decision Maker – be agile, balance multiple priorities and make the best decision to support our teams and the business goals.
- Demonstrable experience in asset protection and/or risk management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Proven experience in a leadership role is required

Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY:
As the Warehouse Security Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Warehouse and DIstribution Centre Security operations within your assigned district (Brampton), reporting directly to the Regional Manager, Eastern Canada Operations Manager and ultimately, Director of Operations.
The Warehouse Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the safety and security of all assets and personnel within the organization. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures, as well as monitoring the daily activities and operations of site personnel across multiple locations. The Warehouse Security Manager will also support in identify weaknesses in security systems, recommend solutions to improve safety and security policies and procedures. Additionally, the Warehouse Security Manager will be responsible for training and supervising staff, responding to emergency situations, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
The successful candidate will possess very strong organizational and interpersonal skills, strong time-management capabilities, have excellent customer service, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should have the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, have a high level of attention to detail, and through knowledge of asset protection principles. The candidate should also be open to flexible hours, to support the needs of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive support and oversight for all company operations within your portfolio.
- Ensure effective management of all assigned sites.
- Facilitate and ensure proper training is provided to new hires within your sites.
- Manage and maintain control over company-owned property, such as uniforms, vehicles, and equipment.
- Assist the Regional Manager in overseeing operations, client management, and other related tasks.
- Efficiently manage and lead the workforce within your district.
- Actively contribute to company growth by maintaining strong client relationships.
- Take leadership to create and manage weekly employee schedules for the district.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records using TrackTik software.
- Be available to cover shifts in emergency situations.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including new hire paperwork, reports, and forms.
- Address client needs and concerns promptly and professionally through email and phone communication.
- Fully oversee the security operations of 5 Warehouse/DC Facilities.
- Supervise and provide guidance to multiple teams of 10+ security personnel.
- Create and drive Asset Protection site strategies to reduce unwanted criminal activity
- Manage and coordinate asset protection activities
- Develop asset protection strategies and systems to minimize loss
- Support investigations into internal and external theft
- Monitor CCTV and other security systems
- Train and mentor personnel on asset protection procedures and all site Post Orders
- Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures
- Be accountable for the maintenance of professional communication at all times between team members.
- Supporting the Regional and District Managers with the design and maintenance of post orders for the sites.
- Develop and maintain a solid relationship with our clients.
- Regularly meet designated client representatives for status updates and, address any concerns promptly and proactively identify problems and find resolutions.
- Oversee disciplinary actions of your staff as necessary, with input from HR and your direct reports.
- Participate in projects, investigations, and special assignments as required by the leadership or client teams.
- Manage and address staff issues as they arise, with support and direction from the HR team.
- Report on required operational metrics and KPIs regularly.
- Act as the main point of contact for your client’s concerns and needs.
