POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Technician position in the Operations department works as part of a team to support purchasing and inventory control. Majority of the work is completed at a desk on a computer using several internal purchasing and inventory management systems as well as emails. A portion of the role will be physically managing and moving inventory by hand or using equipment.
Please note: Tenaris requires employees to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and fit test for this position as it is a safety sensitive position.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1 year of experience within a warehouse environment
  • Class 5 Driver’s License required
  • Electric Pallet Truck, an asset (can be trained after hired)
  • Industrial forklift experience an asset
  • SAP experience, an asset

SKILLS

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion to meet deadlines
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (excel, outlook), an asset
  • Strong proven analytical and organization skills, an asset
  • Attention to detail is critical in the role
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication (verbal and written)
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $21.00-$28.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in all aspects of plant health and safety
  • Maintains control over volumes of raw materials in order to ensure predetermined level of inventories.
  • Purchasing of couplings, protectors, maintenance supplies and consumables
  • Utilize internal systems and inventory control systems to manage purchases and inventory levels
  • Work with Exiros, Tenaris’ purchasing partner, for all company purchases and to manage vendor contracts
  • Maintain an inventory management that will lead to continuous improvement of the warehousing function.
  • Responsible for inventory control; coordinates materials cycle counts and actual inventories vs. systems records conciliation.
  • Update records and systems according to purchases made, inventory received, inventory consumed
  • Use of small forklift or front end loader to move inventory as needed
  • Take ad hoc direction from the Operations Manager regarding what to purchase, how much, and when.
  • Work collaboratively with the Yard Leader, Shift Leaders and Vendors
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards
  • Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning equipment
  • Attend and collaborate in training activities in order to maintain and increase the company knowledge
  • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs: correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process
