Description:
Norco is seeking an experienced Waste Water Operator to join the team at our busy ice cream manufacturing site at Lismore. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, inspecting and maintaining the waste water treatment plant on site. Reporting to the Senior Production Coordinator, this is a full time role, working Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WASTE WATER OPERATOR:
- Inspect and maintain the treatment plant to ensure effective operations (including water intakes, pipes, water storage vessels, chemical treatment equipment controls, circulation pumps, boilers, heat exchanges and valves)
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise
- Monitor plant daily operations including completion of daily log sheets and electronic data/paperwork
- Receive, decant, palletise monthly changeover of chemicals, etc
- Ordering of stock and invoicing
- Sampling and PH testing
- EPA reporting
- Ensure that all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
- Ensure the work area is clean, safe and organised
Qualifications, experience and skills required to succeed in this role:
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or other relevant qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in operating a waste water plant or other relevant experience
- Readiness to work in a waste water plant environment (outside, physical work, frequent standing for extended periods, some repetitive tasks)
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and the ability to work in a safe manner
- Mechanically-minded and good with technology
- Proven history of successful independent time management
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork with good attention to detail
- Sound communication, literacy and numeracy skills and computer skills
- Understanding and commitment to continuous improvement activities

- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment medical, including a Drug & Alcohol test
