Are you a hands-on problem solver with experience in mechanical and electrical things? Join our Queenstown team as a Wastewater Pump Station Technician and play a crucial role in maintaining our community’s wastewater infrastructure.
In this position, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater pump stations and associated equipment. Your primary duties will include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, operating pump stations manually or through control systems, and conducting basic electrical and mechanical repairs. Meaningful work that contributes to the well-being of our community What you’ll need to be successful

  • Technical training in wastewater operations or mechanics preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in the 3 waters operations and maintenance industry
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., wastewater operator certification)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles, pumps, valves, and control systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in using computers and software for data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety What you’ll be responsible for
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping, controls, and

other pump station equipment

  • Respond to pump station alarms and troubleshoot issues
  • Operate pump stations to maintain proper flow levels
  • Collect and record operational data
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks around pump station sites
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined

space entry
