The Water and Environmental Sciences Student will be a part of the Water and Environmental Science team, based in Fort McMurray. You will be a member of a team comprised of reclamation and water (surface and groundwater) focused scientists, specialists, and engineers; engaged in work supporting the Suncor Oil Sands In-Situ and Mining sites located near Fort McMurray, AB.
Minimum Requirements
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or technical program in Sciences, such as Geology and Environmental Science or a relevant discipline at an accredited post-secondary institution
- Must be returning to full-time studies after the work term

Key Responsibilities
- Support development of regulatory required plans and reports, including formatting, coordinating data inputs
- Support various water, reclamation and closure related programs and projects, including literature search and reviews, coordination of people/ resources, enabling progress on annual program commitments and requirements
- Manage water quality and volume monitoring data input, databases, and QAQC
- Aid in preparation of slide decks, data analysis, graphing, charting and presentation development
- Participate in and coordinate teams and resources in the support of various Indigenous community engagement activities related to reclamation and closure
- Provide general support to the water and environmental science team during meetings, managing information, data compilation, filing
- Aid in preparation of slide decks, data analysis, graphing, charting and presentation development
Location and other Key Details
- You will work out of our Syncrude Aurora location in Fort McMurray
- Relocation assistance will be provided if required
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work
