THIS IS A FULL TIME, PERMANENT POSITION WORKING 75 HOURS BI-WEEKLY.

The Compliance, Monitoring and Inspections Branch is the enforcement arm of the Department, providing compliance, monitoring, inspection, and enforcement services for natural resource development activities in the territory.
This position provides laboratory, field, and office support for water quality studies and water quality inspections.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Please submit your resume, clearly demonstrating how you meet the following education and experience qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Undergraduate degree and/or diploma in Water Quality Technology or relevant subject/field
  • Experience in multi-parameter sampling procedures, sample collection, and laboratory water quality testing
  • Experience in data entry, and database maintenance

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness and ability to work in, and travel to, Yukon communities in all seasons, approximately 10-15 times a year (from 2 to 14 days) by aircraft or vehicle
  • Occasional field work, completed in all seasons and terrain types, often in remote settings, working longer days, and using a variety of vehicle types e.g. trucks, all-terrain vehicles, helicopters, boats etc.
