Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training/Technologist in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing water resources projects under the supervision of a senior water resources engineer. These projects include but not limited to, storm water management systems, wastewater collection systems, ice engineering, hydraulic structures, flood control, irrigation systems, and river engineering. Additional responsibilities include field inspections, preparing and assisting with technical reports, proposals, design briefs and ensuring project needs are met in an effective and timely manner.

Job Requirements:

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a focus on Water Resource Management or a Civil Engineering Diploma from a Technical Institute or College with a focus on Water Resources Management.
  • 2+ years of experience in water resource planning and design, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with APEGA, or as a Certified Engineering Technologist with ASET.
  • Experience with a range of 1D, 2D, and 3D numerical models related to water management and hydraulic structures. Familiarity with models such as PCSWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS, OpenFOAM, Flow3D is an asset.
  • Experience with any programming language is an asset.
  • Experience with GIS software and AutoCAD/Civil 3D is an asset.
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license.
