RVA is actively seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team in the Toronto office. The successful candidate will be responsible for all design phases of the water resources projects, environmental impact assessment and meeting client expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Must hold an active P.Eng designation with the ability to practice in the province of Ontario.
- 5-10 years relevant experience in water resources, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
- Experience with SWM modeling software, such as but not limited to: EPA-SWMM, PCSWMM, Infoworks, HEC-RAS, or XPSWMM
- Must possess practical knowledge of water resources engineering principles.
- Experience managing projects and working in AutoCAD and Microstation.
- Hydraulic and Hydrologic modelling experience is an asset
- Familiar with local design and construction standards and requirements for permits and approvals.
- Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written
- Must possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
- Aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development and other skills appropriate to consulting.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and expertise in the stormwater management, flood risk assessment, grade line analysis, LID and storm sewer design on water resources and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Prepare and manage the preliminary and final design of stormwater management systems.
- Oversee the construction of projects and provide water resources expertise to address complex stormwater challenges.
- Participate in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and utility companies and contractors.
- Participate in Business Development initiatives.
- Coordinate with multidisciplined design teams and on inter-office projects.
- Collaborate with staff among all levels of the company and other stakeholders to meet deliverables on multiple projects at any given time.
- Participates in the training, development and mentoring of junior staff
- Other duties as assigned that are relevant to the position
