Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Graduate for our Kitchener, Ontario office. The candidate for this position will work on drinking water and wastewater treatment projects and related infrastructure including planning and feasibility of design and construction.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
  • Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Work closely with the project manager, process engineers, and other discipline engineers, technicians, and administrative staff in the delivery of comprehensive designs.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Equipment selection and liaison with equipment suppliers and vendors.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, special provisions, and forms of tender.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Prepare technical reports, memorandums, design briefs, etc. to support project assignments.
  • Provision of contract administration services during the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
  • Work successfully both independently and within a team environment, and communicate effectively with other project team members and clients.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Actively engage in professional development and industry events.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills as well as effective report writing.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
  • Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen
