Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machine operation is a plus.
- Previous experience operating waterjet cutting machines or similar equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is considered an asset.
- Experience in operating a Forklift will be considered an asset
Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Good mathematical skills to calculate dimensions, angles, and tolerances.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to operate machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor waterjet cutting machines to ensure high-quality production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine specifications and cutting requirements.
- Adjust machine settings, including pressure, speed, and cutting paths, to meet specifications for each project.
- Inspect the material before and after cutting to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of finished parts to ensure conformance with technical drawings.
- Adjust machine parameters as needed to correct deviations or quality issues during the cutting process.
- Perform routine tests to ensure the waterjet system is functioning optimally.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and changing waterjet nozzles and abrasives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical or technical issues with the waterjet machine.
- Report major maintenance issues to the maintenance team for resolution.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Participate in regular safety training and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with production team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure on-time completion of projects.
- Communicate any material or machine issues to the production supervisor to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, cutting schedules, and machine maintenance logs.
- Document any changes or adjustments made during the cutting process.
Education & Experience

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection, must be worn at all times.
