POSITION SUMMARY:

Position: WCB Case Management Specialist
Type: Full-time
Location: Remote

Schedule: 40 hours per week, following a Monday to Friday schedule

  • This position is open to local and/or Alberta based candidates only. There will be a requirement to travel to head office in Fort McKay Incubator Park monthly basis for in-person case review.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proof of local or Alberta based residency is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., health sciences, human resources, business administration) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in WCB case management or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of WCB regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Disability Management or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment.
  • Proven knowledge of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and extensively experienced WCB Case Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing WCB claims, providing support and guidance to injured workers, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of WCB claims, from initiation to closure, including appeals and required hearings, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for injured workers, employers, healthcare providers, and WCB representatives, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of claims, reviewing medical reports, employment records, and other relevant documentation to ensure accurate case management.
  • Develop and implement tailored case management plans to facilitate effective recovery and a smooth return-to-work process.
  • Educate and guide injured workers on their rights, responsibilities, and benefits under the WCB system, empowering them throughout their recovery journey.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication among all parties involved in the claims process to ensure seamless management and resolution of cases.
  • Ensure strict adherence to WCB regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining high standards of compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation, preparing and submitting required reports and documentation to WCB and other relevant parties.
  • Stay informed about changes in WCB legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
