Description:

SKILLS AND ATRRIBUTES FOR SUCCES

  • Wealth and Asset Management tax experience within an accounting firm or law firm
  • Familiarity with the alternatives asset management / private assets industry, with hedge funds, private equity funds and credit funds being of particular interest
  • Experience across a range of fund tax matters, including fund formation, acquisitions and disposals of assets, reorganisations, and asset management structures
  • Experience of dealing in UK corporate tax and/or partnership matters
  • Client focused and strategically and commercially aware.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
  • Effective time management, ability to meet client deadlines
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
  • Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams
  • Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery team

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding tax advisory projects across a range of matters including fund tax, international tax, UK corporation tax, UK income tax, capital gains tax, and other tax matters relevant to the Wealth and Asset Management sector.
  • Aligned to a portfolio of long-term accounts, which you can build deep relationships with, and become their trusted advisor.
  • Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing staff development and assignments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proactive business development to win new work.
  • Interaction with other EY offices both in the UK and overseas.
  • Contact with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties, including major financial institutions, lawyers and wealth advisory businesses.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

  • ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification
  • Strong tax technical skills
  • Initiative, professionalism and confidence
  • Experience of coaching and developing junior staff
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • The ability to motivate a team; manage, mentor and train junior staff and work with people from across the business
