JOB DESCRIPTION

From our offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, J.P. Morgan’s Asia Private Bank serves the complex wealth management needs of ultra-high net worth clients in countries across the region. You will be part of the Private Banking Operations team in Singapore, focused on ensuring the Bank’s operations run efficiently and effectively.
As an Associate within Over-the-Counter (OTC) Derivatives Operations team, you will be responsible to support the daily OTC Derivatives operational activities from order execution to trade lifecycle (including settlements of transactions) and transaction reporting initiated by Private Bank clients in Asia. Additionally, you will work closely with Business stakeholders, Risk and Control partners, Compliance, and other partners to ensure that the bank’s operations run efficiently and effectively.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

  • A minimum of a Polytechnic Diploma in Banking and Finance, Business, Technology, or relevant disciplines
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with Banking Operations and/or Trading Middle-Office within the financial services industry
  • Strong ownership with ability to operate in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking are also required in driving solution, initiatives, and projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partnership mindset)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization
  • Ability to identify and focus on issues at a holistic level and yet be detailed oriented and independence in thinking when analyzing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is the norm and ability to handle escalations and work on resolutions
  • Proactive and takes initiative to assist the team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Understanding of OTC Derivatives is preferred
  • Managed/Worked in an operational team using Murex and knowledge in Derivatives Transaction Reporting will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx CORE certification is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first class client experiences through effective daily transactional and lifecycle management processing, ensuring accurate and timely trade capture within stipulated regulatory requirements and timelines
  • Make sound and objective decisions on operational issues management and escalation
  • Driving process improvement / automation initiatives and efficiency opportunities with the Change teams
  • Demonstrate strong ability to document (or make changes) to standard operating procedures, risk documentations and policy documents associated with Operations
  • Develop working relationship with Business, Risk, Legal, Compliance and other partners to execute transformation and growth agenda for the Private Bank
