DESCRIPTION

As Research Manager in our growing team, your work will significantly contribute to Progeny’s proposition and client experience. You will achieve this by producing and maintaining vital research and due diligence, with two major focuses. One focus is centred on organising, chairing, and spearheading the Investment Committee, taking ownership for acquisition firms during integration periods. The other major focus is providing high-quality, technical research to develop and define the service lines and advice in line with the propositions, as well as responding to changing client and regulatory demands.
Proactively supporting proposition enhancements and launches, and utilising extensive technical and forward-thinking approach you will scan the Wealth advice horizon to support research and enhance Progeny’s propositions, products, and advice.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Relevant Professional industry qualifications (IMC, CFA)
  • Proven experience in a technical or paraplanning role gained within an advisory practice and technical operations experience.
  • Specific experience in managing research and due diligence to a high regulatory standard.
  • Overall knowledge of key areas of financial planning and advice - including investment planning, pre/at retirement planning, personal and business protection; and estate/Inheritance Tax planning.
  • Knowledge of platforms, functionality, and due diligence considerations.
  • Understand FCA suitability requirements.
  • CII Chartered Status or equivalent preferrable.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as Secretary of the Progeny Wealth Investment Committee, taking responsibility for the full calendar of scheduled Research and Due Diligence for all Progeny Wealth Propositions, Providers, and supporting Research tools.
  • Carrying out research with full rigour, ensuring this research meets regulatory and business requirements.
  • Assisting with acquisition firms, which may involve the closure of their own investment committees and managing any acquisition risks.
  • Providing pro-active support for proposition enhancements and proposition launches; producing appropriate copy and wording to support communications internally and externally, where required.
  • Undertaking appropriate research and due diligence for “Off-CIP” to support alternative solutions and panels.
  • Utilising technical knowledge to proactively horizon scan, supporting research as well as propositional/product and advice enhancements.
