This position serves as a Web Application Specialist II for the Department of Innovation & Technology, supporting the Illinois Department of Agriculture (AGR). In this role, you will maintain and modify internet and intranet site collections using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM,) SharePoint, Php, .Net and/or other web-based languages and tools. In addition, you will support end users with web development application systems including using troubleshooting tools and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience in Application Services or related information Technology experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICAIONS (IN ORDER OF SIGNIFICANCE)

  • One (1) year of professional experience maintaining internet and intranet site collections using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM,) SharePoint, PHP .Net and/or other web-based languages and tools.
  • One (1) year of professional experience developing and editing content for internet sites.
  • One (1) year of professional experience supporting end user web development application systems including using troubleshooting tools and procedures.
  • One (1) year of professional experience providing technical application services to end users.
  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, serves as the Web Application Specialist II for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Agriculture (AGR), performing professional work of an intermediate level of difficulty in internet website application development assignments.
  • Works closely with AGR Public Information Officer (PIO) and business personnel to publicize department news reporting, programs, articles, and topics of interest.
  • Provides professional, training, and problem-solving assistance through telephone support as well as direct contact with users.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
