Description:

Plotly builds tools that help data scientists tell stories and generate data visualizations. Our tooling’s capabilities for generating useful and beautiful ways to look at data is key to our success. This will become increasingly important as we build new no-code products and as AI makes code generation easier and easier. Design will be a key differentiating factor for Plotly’s success.
We are seeking a full-time (30-40 hours a week) Web Developer, for a 6 month contract position, who excels in working with Marketing and Engineering. We are looking for someone who can handle the fast-paced nature of our industry and continuously deliver website updates and improvements that align with our cutting-edge technology products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years of experience with Next.js, Typescript, Vercel, GitHub and Prismic CMS or similar headless CMS. Foundational web skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery are also needed.
  • Experience using Figma for development information
  • Ability to fetch data from third-party REST APIs like CMSs or GitHub
  • Use animation and transitions to enhance components
  • Create visual/snapshot tests to prevent breaking changes

  • Maintain and enhance plotly.com and other web properties
  • Shape the first impression of the brand with influential web experiences
  • Collaborate with Content Marketing, Product Marketing and Engineering
  • Ensure documentation site is fast, functional, and engaging
  • Experiment and optimize web experiences for conversion rate gains
  • Provide feedback, collaborate effectively, and think critically
