ARE YOU A TALENTED WEBSITE DEVELOPER WITH EXPERIENCE OF DEVELOPING DRUPAL WEBSITES AND A PASSION TO CONTINUALLY PROVIDE THE BEST USER EXPERIENCE? IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO WORK IN A LARGE ORGANISATION WORKING ACROSS A RANGE OF VARIED PROJECTS,THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP YOUR CAREER.

Solihull Council are looking for an experienced Drupal web developer to join the central web team and develop our corporate website. This new role for the Council will work collaboratively with our in-house website content editors and our external website agency who host and maintain the site.
As a website developer, you will have experience in maintaining and enhancing Drupal websites, working on new modules, features and solutions to continually improve the website from a user-experience perspective. You will stay on top of the latest web trends and best practice, ensuring our website is constantly evolving.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to become an active member of LocalGov Drupal, providing you with access to a community of web developers, collaboratively developing new features and fixes for local authority websites.
The role is designed for someone who is able to troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs in a timely manner, alongside being reactive to changing priorities and demands. You will be expected to work on tasks and projects provided by the Council teams, but also independently identify areas for improvement.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a motivational and supportive environment where your contribution will be highly valued and your personal development actively supported.

We also offer:

  • Flexible working arrangements – including hybrid working
  • Generous annual leave entitlements with opportunity to buy up to 10-days additional leave per year
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service
  • Family and carer friendly policies
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Employee benefits including staff discounts, subsidised travel passes and Cycle 2 Work Scheme

We recognise that work is what you do and not necessarily where you go. Our aim is to balance the needs of our employees with service delivery, and, for this post, that is likely to include a combination of working from home and from our offices in central Solihull.
If you have any specific questions about the post, or about the recruitment process please email: comms@solihull.gov.uk with the subject line “web developer question”.
