Description:

Full Time : 35 hours per week
Location : Remote (South Africa)
Our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Web Project Manager to be part of their client-facing team, working with a range of clients from throughout the country, including recognized brands. Working in an interesting and varied environment, you will manage a range of marketing projects, with a particular focus on website design and development, including e-commerce sites built using platforms such as Shopify.
You will explore and interpret client requirements, working alongside creative and technical teams to devise solutions that achieve wider objectives. Key activities will include digital strategy and planning, project management, analysis, and reporting.
With a clear understanding of the digital marketing industry, you will strive for excellent results while also maintaining and developing efficient processes that ensure profitability and quality results for their clients. Although our client is perhaps best known for website development and digital marketing work, they have grown in recent years to offer a broader range of strategic, branding, and content services.
While based in Shetland, our client has helped many remote and rural businesses to thrive, and they export their services to clients all over the country. Their head office is in Lerwick, Shetland, but clients are based across Scotland and the wider UK. With over 20 years of experience building effective remote and hybrid teams, they are open to this role being filled by a candidate from South Africa, provided the candidate has the relevant experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that helps clients prosper by delivering exceptional website, e-commerce, and digital projects. You will work with clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including destination marketing, food and drink, retail, professional services, and energy. You will have a background managing website development projects in an agency environment and a proven track record in overseeing work from concept to completion.
As the Project Manager, you will be a main point of contact for many clients and responsible for the delivery of projects to the required standards, on time and on budget. You will apply your skills in a challenging and fast-paced environment, coordinating and managing subcontractors, colleagues, and marketing projects simultaneously. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for the team to provide additional services to clients, helping to grow the value of each account. You’ll also contribute, where appropriate, to internal process improvement and client communications management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

  • Manage website design/development and e-commerce projects from initiation through to launch, and beyond.
  • Schedule workstreams to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload appropriately to meet delivery expectations.
  • Ensure that jobs remain on budget, that clients are satisfied, and that deadlines are met.
  • Check work for quality throughout each project to ensure consistent high standards.
  • Research and prepare planning documents for client projects.
  • Provide clear briefs and guidance to designers, developers, content creators, and other suppliers.
  • Manage content and data entry, including migration from legacy systems.
  • Communicate regularly with clients—including meetings—to discuss current and potential work.
  • Prepare and provide training sessions for clients to empower them to use CMS systems and similar platforms.
  • Produce detailed performance reports for clients, analyzing project success and profitability.
  • Build professional, trusting relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to provide further value to existing and new clients.
  • Handle and assist with scoping, time/cost estimation, and quoting for new projects.
  • Monitor the support ticket system, as required, responding to requests or assigning them to team members.
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvements and internal process refinement.
  • Maintain up-to-date information in agency systems, including time tracking and project status indicators.
