REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and practical implementation of a proactive WH&S culture.
  • Experience at advising and implementing best practice.
  • Significant experience in an autonomous senior WH&S role.
  • Ability to influence, coach, motivate and engage to gain buy-in across all levels and bring people along on the journey.
  • Practical knowledge of current and pending NZ WH&S legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative style.
  • Experience working with Senior Management, external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Professional membership through the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (or equivalent registration body) or qualified in WH&S or aligned fields and undertaking continuous professional development.
  • Strong communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Good analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Influential, motivating - can do attitude.
  • Agility and pragmatism.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Sheets and Forms.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Wellbeing, Health and Safety Lead is part of our Studio Services Division and reports to the People and Culture Director. You will be responsible for ensuring we have the programmes, policies, governance and leadership in place to continue to mature the Wellbeing, Health and Safety practices of PikPok.
We’re looking for a Wellbeing, Health and Safety Lead that can deliver a comprehensive suite of initiatives, investigations, governance reporting and audits.
You will have working knowledge of and experience in interpreting and advising against current New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
Someone who is personable, approachable, down to earth and adaptable, that can build credibility and trusting relationships quickly with a diverse population, inspiring, empowering and influencing others in good WH&S practices, behaviours and culture.

THE WELLBEING, HEALTH AND SAFETY LEAD’S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Lead the business performance and growth of PikPok’s Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) strategy and culture.
  • Partner to influence, coach, support and assist engagement.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and review of wellbeing, health and safety training courses and awareness programmes. Identify skills and knowledge gaps and priorities for training.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to managers so they can fulfil the WHS expectations of their roles with confidence and success.
  • Promote, champion and drive continual improvement with regards to wellbeing health and safety risks, issues and critical risks.
  • Support, and where required, carry out incident investigations to ensure they are openly and accurately reported, and steps are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all things WH&S to ensure our people are safe and free from harm.
  • Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of WH&S.
