Te tūnga | The role
We have a 3-month fixed term 0.4 FTE opportunity until April 2025 for a WellKiwis Midwifery Engagement Coordinator to engage with the midwifery and Well Child sectors in the Wellington region and to identify opportunities to engage with pregnant women and new parents who may be interested in the WellKiwis Infant study.

In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Identifying opportunities to engage with potential sector partners.
  • Engaging and motivating the midwifery and Well Child sectors to introduce and refer potential participants to the WellKiwis Infant study.
  • Explaining the requirements of participating in the study to both sector partners and potential participants.
  • Referring interested people to the WellKiwis study team for enrolment.
  • Ensuring data integrity and complying with ESR’s data security and data management policy.
  • Ensuring human subject and data security/privacy/reporting requirements are implemented and maintained.

This position is largely field-based, otherwise working out of ESR’s Wallaceville Science Centre in Upper Hutt, Wellington. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the scientific life of ESR by promoting a culture of open, ethical, relevant, and publicly responsive scientific inquiry.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Ideally at least five years’ experience in the midwifery sector.
  • Proven established relationships with LMC and employed midwives practicing in the Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Capital Coast and Hutt Valley region.
  • A full and current NZ driver’s license.
  • The ability to drive around the Wellington region visiting various groups, venues and events.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the demonstrable ability to communicate positively and effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines whilst creatively promoting health sector messaging.
