REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to sit for the exam within 12 months.
  • 7+ years of experience in building systems design.
  • Current knowledge of appropriate codes and technologies: ASHRAE, Title 24, IECC, IMC, UMC, IBC, UBC.
  • REVIT skills, building energy modeling experience, including familiarity with project management or related building sciences program, preferred.
  • Professional knowledge of a broad range of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and practices, and familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Mechanical Engineer at Bizforce, you will play a key role in designing HVAC systems for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, including but not limited to:

  • Mission Critical
  • Laboratories
  • Healthcare
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Utility Plant and campus distribution
  • Corporate Commercial

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Designing HVAC systems (airside, hydronic, steam) that meet engineering requirements.
  • Assuring complete documentation of engineering requirements.
  • Adhering to budgeted hours for the project.
  • Performing or overseeing load calculations.
  • Developing system applications, equipment sizing, and calculations.
  • Coordinating designs with architecture and other engineering disciplines.
  • Maintaining project files and calculations for assigned projects.
  • Ensuring quality and completeness of the engineering design.
  • Performing and/or supervising on-site condition surveys.
  • Assessing project staffing needs.
  • Monitoring conformance to project scope and documenting deviations.
  • Conducting energy modeling and preparing technical reports.
  • Participating in client meetings regarding engineering systems.
  • Mentoring staff and providing supervision to other engineering team members on a project.
