Bertie’s Whisky Bar at The Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, is a testament to what a whisky bar is, with around 400 whiskies on our shelves arranged by flavour profile. Our team know the collection inside and out and act as a guide to all guests that join us. Located in the village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, The Fife Arms has recently been awarded Conde Naste Readers’ Choice Best Hotel – UK, as well as the prestigious 2 Michelin Keys, and Aberdeen City & Shire’s Hospitality Employer of the Year.
As Bertie’s Whisky Bartender, you’ll be part of a close team that works to ensure the whisky offering at The Fife Arms is world class; by sourcing, comparing, discussing, and of course tasting, it is our responsibility to maintain this marvellous collection. It is with pleasure that we share our passion and knowledge with all of our guests.

As Whisky Bartender you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Bar Manager by supporting operational responsibility for beverage service within Bertie’s Whisky Bar.
  • Conducting tastings and assisting the Bar Manager.
  • Contributing in working together with whisky advisors, specialists, and distilleries to curate a whisky menu that is diverse and interesting.
  • Approaching sales opportunities (up-selling) to maximise revenue by making informed recommendations based on in-depth knowledge of the whisky menu.

Our successful Whisky Bartender will have:

  • Proven experience as a Bartender or a similar role within a luxury/5-star hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of whisky varieties, regions, and production processes.
  • The enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Initiative, emotional intelligence and strong communication and organisation skills.
  • A passion and ambition to deliver exceptional experiences.
