WHISTLER EXPERIENCE GUIDE
Are you passionate about the outdoors? Do you thrive on providing excellent guest experiences? Are you an expert in all things Whistler? Why not combine all aspects of mountain life and luxury hospitality in this role!
This is a full-time, seasonal position, starting November 26th, 2024, and ending May 1st, 2025.
Starting Rate of Pay: $22.15
We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $28.00 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Standard / Wilderness First Aid is required
- Expert knowledge of Whistler Blackcomb Mountains
- Passion for the outdoors, most notably skiing/snowboarding
- Expert knowledge of Whistler community and surrounding area
- Back country ski experience an asset
- Flexible schedule
- Great interacting with all age groups
- Previous experience in coaching/training related to mountain activities an asset
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the creation, implementation and the maintaining of Whistler Experience programs including group and individual programming
- Facilitation of Whistler Experience programs including but not limited to; interpretive walks & hikes, bicycle tours, stargazing, ski valet assistance, ski hill ‘run of the day’, snowshoeing, fireside chats (après)
- Create, implement and facilitate Secrets of the Chateau tours of the property
- Ensure the safety of our guest at all times during excursions and events
- Be able to answer all guest questions in regard to Whistler Blackcomb Mountains, the community and Sea to Sky corridor and the plant and wildlife in the area
- Have a good working relationship with local businesses and municipality
- Responsible for purchasing, maintaining and inventory counts of products for Whistler Experience programming
- Accurate daily tracking of all activities and participation
- Facilitation of information sessions to guests and staff in regard to the program and its offerings as needed based seasonal change
