Description:

LIPA is a world leading provider of university-level performing and creative arts training. Our students become part of an international community of creatives, performers, technicians, film makers and business people who learn by working together on fully realised productions and projects. We enjoy a global reputation for the quality of our teaching, our world class facilities and an enviable track record of graduate employment.
We are looking to recruit a temporary Widening Participation Coordinator (Maternity Cover) who will be part of a small team of staff working with schools and colleges to provide outreach and fair access activities, which raise awareness of, and aspirations to, Higher Education and encourage applications to LIPA from groups which are under-represented at university-level.
The post-holder will lead on the planning, coordination, and evaluation of LIPA’s key pre-16 widening participation initiatives, including our flagship outreach programme for Year 10 and 11 students, a portfolio of activities with targeted partner schools across Merseyside and engagement with LIPA School pupils. These activities are aimed at helping targeted young people to engage further with performing arts and making performance possible subjects and understand career and progression routes within these subject areas, including at LIPA. There is also a growing focus within our pre-16 activities on assisting schools with attainment raising in these subject areas.
You will be a graduate with previous experience of designing, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating activities, as well as working with groups of young people. You will have excellent project management and organisational skills, strong written communication and presentational skills and be confident in dealing with a range of people. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player with the capacity to be flexible and think on your feet. Knowledge and experience of secondary education and/or Higher Education would be beneficial. In return we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, pension, generous holiday entitlements, and complimentary tickets to our inhouse productions.
This is a fixed term post to commence as soon as possible. Any job offer is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
