Description:
THE POSITION
We are currently seeking Wildlife Biologists to join our team based out of our Edmonton and Whitecourt office. This is a full-time permanent position that is focused on inventory, assessments and ecological restorations. Project work includes forest inventory, ecological site assessments, wildlife inventories, and roadway/stream crossing assessments and restorations. Project work is remote, team based, safety driven and is completed for the energy and forest sectors throughout the province.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- This position is accountable for safe and efficient project work;
- Manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands’ peers, management and clients;
- Initiate, develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices;
- Assist the Operation Manager with the scheduling and management of projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, watercourse crossing assessments, fish identification, fishery habitat classification, plant identification, soil classification, ecological restorations, field data collection and reporting;
- Experience in remote field work and working around big yellow equipment will be considered an asset;
- University Degree or technical diploma is required in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry, Biology or Engineering;
- Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta’s Professional Regulatory Organizations;
- Minimum experience of 2 years;
- Strong analytical and reporting skills;
- Ability to maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract;
- Ability to demonstrate a safety and customer service focus.
