Position: WildSafeBC Program Administrator
Organization: BC Conservation Foundation
Location: Kamloops, BC
British Columbia Conservation Foundation is seeking an energetic, organized and adaptable person to fill an Administrator role with WildSafeBC, a Provincial-wide outreach program focused on communities and wildlife. The ideal candidate will possess both work and lived experience in the natural environment and enjoy working in program development and service delivery. This person ideally has both education and experience in the environmental and/or education sector. The individual brings a positive outlook to the team, as well as a willingness to learn, adapt, and respond to requests while maintaining a high standard of attention to detail. The WildSafeBC Program Administrator reports to the WildSafeBC Program Manager.

EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION

  • Guide Community Coordinators through orientations, onboarding, remote office set ups and inventory and supply processes.
  • Lead the Provincial social media campaign and attend to messaging and comments.
  • Lead promotional events such as BC Goes Wild, WRP Colouring Contest, etc.
  • Setup and Monitor social media pages for Community Coordinators throughout the season.
  • Assist with updating and/or developing local signage and other print materials as needed.
  • Setup and facilitate in-season learning opportunities for staff.
  • Review, update and curate eLearning program content.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Science or Education (Biology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, Social Science or suitable equivalent) is an asset
  • Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to balance and prioritize work on multiple projects at once
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and interpersonal
  • Experience supporting a team of people
  • Experience maintaining inventory
  • Experience writing proposals, technical and/or scientific reports
  • Ability to exercise mature judgement, initiative, diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to travel occasionally with a valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Proficiency in using technology including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Teams, MetaBusiness, and Canva
  • Knowledge of wildlife in BC and an understanding of human-wildlife conflicts and a desire to learn more
  • Knowledge of social science or community based social marketing as a way of motivating changes in behaviour to achieve a desired outcome
