JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a prestigious and well-respected private legal firm, seeks to appoint an adept Private Client Solicitor for their growing team in the Sheffield office. The ideal candidate will be assertive, forward-thinking, and organized, with extensive experience in a diverse array of Wills, Trusts, and General Probate matters. This includes, but is not limited to: drafting Wills, particularly those incorporating trusts for complex family dynamics; Inheritance Tax/Capital Gains Tax Planning; drafting and registering Powers of Attorney, including EPAs and LPAs; Court of Protection work; managing both taxable and non-taxable estates, as well as Trust administration.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Candidates should have a minimum of three years’ experience in Wills, Trusts, and Probate, although all levels of experience will be considered. They should be experienced in all mainstream private client matters, including wills, power of attorney, tax planning, court of protection practice, special needs trusts, and estate administration. A clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors Accounts Rules is essential. The candidate must be capable of identifying and assisting clients with mental capacity issues and adept at creating and nurturing relationships with key clients at all levels. A commitment to providing high-quality service is required, along with excellent written and numerical skills. The role demands excellent time management and organizational skills, meeting deadlines, an exceptional eye for detail, and the ability to think creatively. Proficiency in case management and tools such as MS Word and Excel is necessary. The candidate must be an expert communicator and collaborator, with exceptional client care skills, high levels of integrity and empathy, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. They should demonstrate a bias for action, with the ability to multitask and pivot while working on varying deadlines and scopes, and show enthusiasm for personal and team marketing opportunities

Responsibilities:

Provide continuous exceptional service to current clients.
Develop and improve the department’s offerings in Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
Manage a diverse caseload involving wills, probate, and trust matters.
Achieve KPIs and personal goals while understanding the business’s commercial needs.
Generate fee income that meets targets and agreed-upon objectives.
Stay updated on all changes in Law and Practice relevant to your work area.
Maintain and improve current legal skills.
Control finances, especially regarding cash flow, through the collection of advance payments and adherence to billing procedures.
Conduct fee-earning work accurately and reliably, following the firm’s quality and risk management procedures.
You may also be required to perform other duties or work in different areas as requested by the Company, which may include other offices or client locations.
