- Degree or HND in electrical/electronic engineering or similar.Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
- Technical, operational and maintenance experience from high MW direct drive (DD) WTGs will be particulary advatageous.
- Desirable experience with GE renewable operations and/or GE WTGs.
- Be or have a willingness to become authorised as a Senior Authorised Person.
- Fluent in oral and written English, paird with strong communications skills. Must also possess the ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and support functions.
- Live near the Port of Tyne or be willing to move to the area. Ideally live within 1 hour commute from the office.
- Hands-on and proactive, prepared to work offshore as and when required. Must be prepared to undertake offshore medical, HUET and GWO training.
Responsibilities:
Be involved In the Project, Service, Warranty and Availability Phase. The turbines are in construction and commissioning phase before operation under a service and warranty agreement. During this period, the role includes:
- Participating in Wind Turbine Generation (WTG) reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, system walkdowns and handovers for ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Following up on contract and contractor performance for the WTG scope as the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) representative.
- Being prepared to do short term business travels offshore, domestically and internationally as required.
- Act in the technical on call expert role on a 1 in 6 week rotational basis
Post Service Warranty Agreement (SWA) this role will:
- Be responsible for the day to day follow-up of operation and maintenance of the WTG assets at Dogger Bank.
- Manage projects such as major component replacements.
- Manage WTG contractors.
- Review loss of production from WTGs, provide analysis and collaborate to recommend improvements to asset and maintenance.
- Collaborate with other asset O&M engineers to support the operation and maintenance of all the wind farm assets.
- Ensure high quality maintenance and safety information is captured and processed in corporate systems in line with management system processes
